Welcome

There are many things that can burden ones life, but hearing the word "cancer" is like a death sentence to many. I remember the first time I heard it I got into my car to leave the doctor's office and I just began to cry. As I sat there I felt even more hopeless since I was sitting in my car crying alone. I was too afraid to call my Mom (and best-friend) because she had lost her sister to cancer and I didn't want to put her through that pain again. – That was four years ago now. I only had cervical cancer, but it was still very scary. I've had to go through multiple surgeries, and I face having a partial hysterectomy this year. This is hard for a 24yr old woman to face. I very much love children and it hurts my soul to think that I may never be able to have that blessing in my life. I know that I can adopt, but I still feel like I will no longer be good enough for any man since I may not be able to give him that gift. Despite my fears I have faith that things will work out in the end because I am still living.

In watching many people in my life suffer from Cancer I very much know what a devastating disease it can be. I also know a few people who have beat cancer (including a man) and gone on to live happy lives. I would like more of the stories to end with survival than death. This is why I am participating in the 3-Day Walk for a Cure. It is a 60 mile walk over the course of three days. Net proceeds benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure and National Philanthropic Trust, funding important breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment. This is the most researched form of cancer, so if we can find a cure for this then we can apply that knowledge to all other cancers. We may not be able to stop cancer all together, but if can cure it then it will no longer be a death sentence.

My Mom (Marilyn Creedon) is walking with me, as well as our friend Terry Olds. Our team name is Headstands and Cartwheels. Our team goal is to raise $15,000 this year. We want the next generation of children to not know the pain we have experience associated with this disease. If you could please make a donation we would greatly appreciate it. If you can not make a monetary donation emotional support is also appreciated. I will be having many different fund raisers through out the year which you can find all the information about on this page. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, stories, or just say 'hi."
